What a fantastic choice of race for the penultamate Club Championship race series.
I don’t know how anyone else felt but I really enjoyed this race. It was a road race – something I usually try to avoid but these were really quiet roads in a beautiful part of the world and somewhere I have never been before.
It was really well organised by Rhayadar running club – no hitches and all the volunteers were smiley and very friendly.
There was an early starting option for anyone who thought they would delay the finish and quite a large croft contingent set off in this group which led to a strange dynamic and an interesting wait for the results. 25 croft runners took part and I have never had such a cheer as I had when I crossed the finish line – so good to be a member of such a great club.
Sam Juson ran a very impressive race to finish first in an eye watering 57.33 – which I am sure would have been even quicker if he had not slipped in the last half mile of the race. Kelly won her age category and I think everyone else had a fantastic time.
It was great to have the support of Stuart on his bike, Emily, Mike B, Bryan and Lisa on the way round and great to have so many photos!
