Weekly CARC Update: 04/11/23 – 10/12/23

News

Welcome to your weekly CARC update, detailing what our club members have been up to this week.

We have our Tuesday and Thursday training sessions to kick us off for the week. Once a month we hold an away day social run for our runners on a Tuesday or Thursday evening. This past Tuesday we headed over to High Vinnalls where Kelly took our runners around the smaller, muddier footpaths, off the beaten track. All of our runners who took part really enjoyed the evening and we can’t wait to hold more social runs over the festive period! On Thursday, it was over to Kelly once again, who was holding a short interval session at Wigmore High School.

Saturday morning was another wet one but still, many of our runners headed to parkruns all over Herefordshire and beyond.

At Ludlow, it was a 2nd place for Eric this weekend, as he prepped himself ready for the following day. Joining him in the top ten was Toby A and Joe L. There was also a new PB for Naomi, as she crossed the line second female. Over in Hereford, Jo M also finished second female while recording a new PB. There was a also a new PB for Crispin. Theresa took part in Aberystwyth Parkrun for the first time!

Onto Sunday, where more rain greeted those with planned Sunday runs.

It was a quiet Sunday with few races being held. One that was on was the Telford 10k, in which 5 Crofties donned their Sky Blue vests. It was a momentous race for Eric who managed to beat his previous overall 10k PB by over a minute, finishing in 32:29. Sam J wasn’t too far behind either with a time of 33:43. The other Croft times were Simon – 40:22, Neil – 47:16 and Frank – 01:15:17. A big well done to this little Croft team.

Elsewhere, a small number from our club got together for a soggy social run around Wigmore Rolls. The group of runners (plus dogs) managed a total of 6-8 miles. We hope to be putting more social events throughout the month of December and January for our runners. Members, please keep your eyes out on our social media pages for future info!

So, that’s another week over with.  We look forward to what the next week will bring. Don’t forget, we’re always on the look out for your race reports for the website, so get posting them on Facebook or send them to either Sam H, Huw or myself (Bronwyn).
