Another excellent turnout, with a record 8 P.B.’s being set.
At the front of the field, Catherine ran a lonely solo run as she knocked over 3 and a half mins. off last month’s time. Richard and Suzanne were, predictably, next home as their starting times were based on an average of last year’s times and they have both improved considerably over the past 12 months. Richard sliced an enormous 2 mins. 37 secs. from his P.B. and Suzanne, despite her dislike for road running, upgraded her time by 1 min. 22 secs. to register the 7th. fastest ever female time in an event which has been going for over 20 years.
Neil worked hard to knock 30 secs. from his best in finishing 4th, but our newly appointed President decided to give his discretionary award to Stacey whose second successive P.B. ( this time by 10 secs. to climb to 6= on the all-time list ) was another outstanding performance.
3 more debutants on the traditional course again illustrated the healthy state of the club at present.
