Committee meeting – Feb 7th 2022

Notes from last night’s committee meeting:

1. Shobdon Wood race will be May 15th (assuming all permissions are granted)

2. The winter social (as already advertised) will be March 4th, at Pearl Lake, Shobdon. Tickets £15, to cover 2 course meal, disco and Sam’s speech!

3. Plans for the club’s 40th anniversary are being finalised. The Offa’s Dyke race (June 11th) will this year include a 3 part relay (approx. 5 miles each) for Croft runners, and a 10km race start/finish at Kington leisure centre. Also a possible garden party, and a club summer social (barbecue, relay etc).

4. Club championship races (many races don’t have dates fixed yet):

16 April Bishops Castle 10km (off road)

26 April Leinthall Starkes 5 miles (road)

First summer league race (venue/date to be confirmed)

19 June Magic Roundabout 10km (off road)

17 August Ragleth Inn 2.8 miles (fell race)

Any Ludlow parkrun in September

23 October Ron Skilton 13 miles (mostly off road)

Three more will be added when dates are confirmed. Run 6 out of 10 to count.

5. Handicap races at Leinthall Starkes : 26 April, 24 May, plus one. Off road handicap dates/venue to follow.

6. We have healthy finances, but UKA will be increasing their affiliation fee in April, to £16.

7. Individual kit orders have often been slow, so it is proposed we place bulk orders on set dates (to be decided).

8. The club AGM will be Friday 25 March – venue to be confirmed. After three tough years Sam will be retiring from the chairman’s role, so we will be appointing a new chair. Other officers are likely to stay in their posts, unless voted out!
