Wyre Forest half marathon

Race Reports

I had a great run doing the first Wyre Forest half marathon organised by pulse pursuits. The course was a mixture of hard fire roads and thick mud. It was a tough course of ascents and descents but it was a beautiful course. There were a couple of sections that were quite tough having to run over lots of branches and low lying brambles, this did slow the pace down slightly.

The weather conditions were great, the course was well signposted and they had three water stations over the course.

The organisers subsidised the parking charges at the venue so we only had to pay £1 per car rather the £5 which was good.

All finishers were given a medal, water, protein shake and a mini pack of haribo.
Myself, Ashley Robinson and his son Jasper ran the course. Jasper ran well finishing 2:19:45, Ashley finished second MV60 at 2:10:16 and I finished first female/first senior female at 1:57:18. Lovely trophy, mug, mars bar and bottle of beer as my prize.
Overall a great Sunday morning race that I’d love to run again.
