While waiting for a Bury Ditches report, maybe you’d be interested to hear how Gary P and Dan Barnett are faring, in the King Offa’s Dyke ultra (185 miles!). They set off at 8pm on Friday, and at 7.30 Sunday evening, after 48 hours, no-one has quite reached Rhyl. Dan is a little north of Wrexham, and Gary a few miles behind. Both must at this point be questioning their sanity!
Gary G meanwhile ran the Llanbedr to Blaenavon fell race, a mere 17 miles, and completed the course in 3 hours 39 mins and 44 seconds. He was first (and only) over 70, and third over 60, and only 8.5 minutes slower than 2 years ago. A considerable feat, as age works against him. The race was won by Mark Palmer in 2.17.52.
Closer to home, and over a much shorter course, there were a number of PBs in the Ludlow parkrun: Scott (21.08), Alec (21.35), me (25.05), Beth George (26.58) and Alison D (31.46). Well done to all. Next week marks the 12th anniversary of parkruns in the UK and the event will be marked by the attendance of the Ludlow MP, Philip Dunne.
just catching up on a few posts..so well done to Gary G. How about Gary P and Dan Barnett? Still sane? I hope they have completed the challenge by now…
