Another Sunday has come and gone, and with that comes another Weekly CARC Update for you all to dive deep into. With that being said, sit back, relax and let’s get this report underway!
As usual, it was Coach Kelly and our Juniors who kicked started the week with their session at Wigmore on Monday. For our Seniors it was also a Wigmore session, but on Tuesday. This was led by Huw and focused on Tempo runs. Huw marked out a 500m loop as we have no track to train on (yet? – the summer term may change this) and it was timed tempo loops, finishing with a handicapped 500m ‘race’ with the promise of an Easter Egg to the first to cross the line – I am sure Huw is keeping it safe for you Paul! Thursday was led by Tim, with a Short Interval session on the Croft driveway.

Ludlow Parkrun was sadly cancelled this week due to the road – Killhorse Lane being closed to traffic from Ludlow. So it was over to Queenswood for A few of the Croftt Ludlow PR regulars, keen not to miss out on their weekly wooldland 5k fix. It was a morning of PB’s! Casper in 23.40, followed by Dad Richard in 25.26, Steph K in 27.41 and Mike H 32.01 all taking home a PB – well done guys!

There were a few parkrun tourists – Kelly was second lady at Llanerchaeron in 22.47, Jamie Symonds was running at Severn Valley Country finishing in 26.21, Bryan Davies finished in 47.40 at Newent and Sam Juson was first across the line at Pont-y-Bala in a staggering time of 15.43.
Saturday was the day for the Croft Ambrey Loop the Loop ultra. Lots of hardwork in the background by Ali B and Theresa paid off with a fantastic 4.2m/6.8km route from Kinsham village hall – open this year just to Croft but who knows, maybe it will be on open to all next time? It was hugely sucessful with 35 runners completing at least one loop and one runner completing seven loops – thats over 29 miles! There was a fantastic spread of snacks layed on by the volunteers in the Hall and everyone who went along is saying what a fabulous day it was. Well done to everyone involved in organising it.

Steph King finally got hold of the haul of goodies she won at The Winter Social. Most important was her victory in the Bryan Markham Handicap Series. Steph was also the FV 55 Championship Winner.

Down in South Wales Eric competed in the Welsh Road Relays. A very strong run put him in the top 30 fastest runners. Brilliant Running Eric.
Flora completed another fell double this weekend – running in The Llanbedr -Blaenafon fell race, 15.79 miles and 5190 feet total ascent on Saturday and The Wrekin fell race – 5.14 miles and 1808 feet total ascent on Sunday – both times finishing second in her group.

That is all for this week. I am sure I am not the only one excited that from now on evening training will be in the daylight!
Happy Easter everyone and enjoy the coming weeks running – as ever, send us any news you would like adding before 6pm on a Sunday and don’t forget to get those race reports roling in – it has gone a little quiet on that front and we all love reading about everyone running!
