The Wrekin Streak

News

We registered in light drizzle, after a day of heavy rain, but were spared a drenching during the run. Somewhat unnecessarily I wore studs, in view of the recent rain, but 95% of the route was hard and rocky. It was a straight up and down course, so before we got to the trig point the leaders were belting back down again. Fortunately for me it wasn’t steep enough to allow Gary to hurtle down like a mountain goat (maybe more like a loose boulder?), so I managed to hold on to a meagre lead. I was 53rd (25.04), Gary 58th (25.27) and Tom, protecting his knees, 72nd (26.47). 118 completed the course.
