Pen Y Fan

5th counter in the South Wales series involving  3.5 miles, a hard climb to the tops of Corn Du and Pen y Fan (2907ft) followed by a headlong descent back to the bottom. The recent heavy rain relented just long enough for the race to take place then started again at the prize giving! The race was also a round of the Welsh open championship giving a larger than normal field with a corresponding increase in standards. Gary again excelled to finish 71st overall, 3rd o/60 in 49:56, using his descending skills to just beat Steve Herington.Tom finished 109th, 7th o/60 in 59:57. There were 130 finishers and the race was won by Tim Davies in 34:11, Andrea Rowlands was 1st Lady in 43:38.
