A disappointingly small number of runners (24) set off round what was quite a muddy course in places, but it was mostly firm and runnable. Even the parking on grass didn’t present problems! Simon led for much of the early part of the race, but was overhauled by Stacey before the end, though an undone shoelace may be what caused Simon’s undoing! Ed Davies had a lonely run in 3rd, with Patrick 4th, over 2 minutes behind, having Sue (First Lady) breathing down his neck most of the way. 16yr old Arthur Charlesworth was next, ahead of Dick Evans (1st MV65). Another 16yr old, Eilish Gilbert of Ludlow Runners, finished 8th overall, 2nd lady and first local runner (again) Then came Gary and me, 2 over 65s well beaten by Dick Evans. Neil, Frank, Ruth (3rd lady) and Tom came in soon after. Sam was 1st FV35, and late arrival (straight from doing something to a horse) was Adrian Allan (1st MV45), with Ashley R limping over the line with a pulled muscle.Thanks to Mick and Dave A for marshalling, to Mike for refereeing and to Dave r jnr for stepping in to sweep.
