Minutes of Croft Ambrey Running Club AGM – 2023

News

Held at the Corners Inn, Kingsland, on March 20 2023

1. Present: Huw, Sam, Tori, Guy, Kelly, Eric, Clare, Bronwyn, Mike, Tom, Gary, Howard, Liza,

Tim J, Peter Faulkner, Dave Rouse (Jnr.)

Apologies received from: Theresa, Stuart.

2. Minutes of previous AGM approved.

3. No matters arising.

4. It was decided that official club charities should be: Wales Air Ambulance, West Midlands Air Ambulance, St Michael’s Hospice and Wigmore School (donated prize), as well as those to be chosen by the committee from time to time.

6. Treasurer’s report: the full report is attached; in summary the club has £2643.43 in hand, after allowing for liabilities. This is a small improvement on the position 12 months ago. Subscriptions remain at £32 per senior, of which one pound more (£17) goes to UKA this year. Lisa Gray kindly checked the year’s figures.

7. Membership secretary’s report: the club has 111 paid up members (including one 2nd claim member and 2 juniors). As at the date of the meeting there had been 46 renewals which is ahead of what might be expected at this time.

8. Election of officers:

            Chairman: Huw – returned – 1st year of initial 2 year term

            Vice chairman: Eric – proposed Huw, seconded Tom

            Treasurer: Tori – proposed Liza, seconded Clare

            Secretary: Clare – proposed Tori, seconded Kelly

            Membership secretary: Kelly – proposed Tori, seconded Guy

            Publicity/ Social media: Bron – proposed Huw, seconded Clare

            Kit: Clare – proposed Eric, seconded Kelly

            Welfare: Sam – proposed Huw, seconded Bron

            Howard – proposed Clare, seconded Eric

            Volunteeer coordinator: Theresa – proposed Huw, seconded Clare

Committee: Mike (some 30 years’s service), Tom (41 years’s service, including 24 as secretary) and Guy (22 years, 12 as secretary) retired. Huw thanked those who have led the club for so many years for setting the tone and values that have helped it survive and thrive over 40 years. A special thankyou was extended by the committee to Guy as he stepped down from the position of club secretary.

Peter Faulkner, Tim Jones and Liza Austin were elected as new committee members. Liza will take on the newly created position of Events’ Organiser.

9. There being no questions from the ‘floor’, the meeting closed at 19.56.
