Another hot day, the third in a row, for this race, billed as 22 miles but actually just under 20! A good local turnout mostly from runners having a final long run before the Three Peaks accompanied by a combined ‘Croft Pacers’ relay team consisting of Nicky, Suzanne and Mandy Evans.
This year the first individual runner was just over 8 minutes behind the winning horse who with rider Geoff Allen completed the demanding course in 2 hours 11 mins 43 secs.
Of the ‘local’ contingent Glyn Williams came in 23rd runner in 2:50:52, Dan Barnett 25th 2:52:54, Gary Pearson 29th 2:56:01, the Ladies relay team came in an excellent 3rd place in 3:03:14, Chris Good 48th 3:05:50, Gary Gunner 97th(3rd o/60) 3:26:00, Dave Lloyd 99th 3:27:01, Ian Price 107th 3:28:32, Phil Jones 121st 3:29:34, Tom Davies 125th 3:33:21, Aidie Brown struggled around in 143rd place 3:41:52 following illness and may use his jockey skills next year as an easier option.
Nicky, Suzanne, Mandy and Gary G all took home trophies and everyone, apart from the winning runner who threw down his trophy after the presentation! appeared to enjoy this unique event over the beautiful Mid Wales countryside
