Fforest Fields

It was wet underfoot, and then it became wet all over. A relatively small field set off up the track, before a short wooded section and then fields and climbs up to a high bracken covered common, before the the tricky root strewn track through the woods which were Mick’s undoing. We then emerged close to the finish area, only to be directed up again, then down before climbing again and finally running down the last field to the track to the finish. The women’s team did the club proud: Sue finishing first lady (by nearly 2 minutes) in 50.35, with Irina running really well to remain 3rd throughout, and Sam continuing to impress with a valiant 11th, which resulted in the team taking first place. The men managed second behind a strong Couriers contingent. Mark L is another who is improving with every race, holding off Matt James to come home 4th (41.34), just ahead of Stacey (42.07) doing really well in his first race in 5 months after surgery. Dave G (45.07) and Andrew (45.16) completed the A team. Dave A (46.30) finished in the top 20, with Martin running well in 25th (48.51). Ashley produced a great result (2nd MV60), 35th (52.00), just ahead of Neil T (52.28) and Gary G (52.31). Tom (55th, 55.44) was no doubt catching me (55.23) by the end.
