What a difference a year makes! Last year the race had to be postponed due to heavy snow making the course inaccessible. This year Spring like conditions prevailed.
Stung by last year’s defeat by the School, Croft turned up in force and dominated the race filling the first eleven positions. Your President, wearing his Lucton hat, was horrified to see Croft’s premier runner taking time off from London training on the start line. Stacey Morgan duly blitzed the course, winning comfortably in 16mins. 29 secs.
The School competed honourably but really must address the situation next year. Where are all the super fit sports teachers and athletes? The School needs you to fly the flag and to provide further inspiration. However, well done to all the youngsters, parents and friends who competed in School colours. Thanks also to the School for providing refreshments for the once again excellent turnout of runners and supporters.
The challenge cup was duly presented to Croft Ambrey and the record is now Croft Ambrey 15 Lucton 12. See you all next year!
