Upton Bishops 10k

Race Reports

Mark and I headed to the outskirts of Ross on wye to compete in the upton bishop 10k road race. Hoping to get some races into the legs before the cross country league. On arrival we bumped into Stacey who was also running. As the race started, mark and Stacey headed off in the leading pack and I wanted to keep a steady pace and build on the last 3k, knowing the last k was down hill.
The course was undulating (very) and I found myself picking people off, mainly getting close to them on a hill and then pushing on downhill and on the flat. At 8k in came the steepest climb but I kept a good pace and then ran as hard as I could to the finish and earning 12th place. Stacey came 3rd, mark 4th and this was enough for us three to get the team prize on the day.
Andrew Stephens of Monross won, followed by a young local runner in 2nd.
