Mike Hayward wrote a short race report on the Bridgnorth 10k.
Only two crofties at this one which was a shame as it’s a great localish race, but it did clash with some other events on the same day.
Hannah Fletcher was 3rd in her category in a time of 42:43 and I (Mike) managed to get round in 1:05:00 which considering the hills and lack of training I was quite pleased with.
Perfect conditions too with bright sunshine, no wind and temperatures around 10 degrees
I knew the hills were going to be bad as we ran past the famous cliff railway also known as the Bridgnorth Funicular Railway. You know it’s going to be tough when there is cliff railway on the route!!!
The route started with a lovely downhill section before taking us up a mega steep but short hill, the Cartway.
And then right near the end came Railway Street! Another challenging climb, before the final 100m sprint to the line
Overall, a brilliant event with a challenging but enjoyable course, amazing support and fantastic marshals. Maybe worth considering next year especially with all those pubs, cafes and coffee shops to try post run.
