Elsewhere, Flora and Gary ran at the Cilcain Mountain Race in North Wales. With over 240 runners taking part in the 4.5 mile race, Flora and Gary both finished well, placing 2nd in their respective age categories. Flora’s time was 55:39 and Gary’s, 01:02:12. Flora told us:  “It’s a good day out there’s a lot of talent show presentations, selling home made cakes and more. Good excuse to go out during bank holiday Monday.”

CARC Junior, Saffi, was over in Stourport on Monday taking part in track. She finished 1st in the 800m and then picked up her 19th UK ranking in the 300m. The following day, Tuesday, it was more track in Exeter with a big PB in the 1500m!

On Friday evening, Toby A ran at the Summer version of the Mid Cheshire 5k. He finished in 17:59.

Parkrun Saturday was once again full of Crofties vying to beat their personal bests. At Ludlow, it was a 3rd place finish for Simon in 22:16, with Steph K finishing 3rd female in 27:24. Jamie, running his 250th parkrun, finished in 26:44. Paul L, Jamie and Michelle S volunteered. Two Croft runners; Sam J and Jo M, ran at Hereford Parkrun, with Sam taking the win. He finished in 16:43. Jo M finished 3rd female with a time of 23:57. We also had Croft runners; Vanessa, Tom D and Ali D running at Riverside Walk Parkrun in Hay. Oliver M and Liv headed over to Groe in Builth Wells. Oliver ran a new PB in 21:15. Liv finished in the Female Top Ten. Toby S ran at Sharpham Estate Parkrun in Totnes, Devon. He finished in 23:53. Rounded out Parkrun Saturday, Angus ran at Cranleigh Parkrun in Surrey. His time was 31:41.

Elsewhere, on a very rainy Saturday evening, 2nd claim Croft runners, Eric and Lucy, were down in Bute Park, Cardiff to take part in the SportsShoes Home Nations 5k event. There would be 5 races on the evening, with Eric running in Race 3 at 6pm, and Lucy in Race 4 – the Elite Womens race at 6:30pm. In what was a very competitive field in all races, Eric would finish in 15:49 and Lucy in 18:31. This would also be a new 5k PB for Lucy.

Sunday was relatively quiet in terms of racing.

Saffi ran at Ross-on-Wye 5k. She finished in 2nd position overall with a time of 21:23. She also came home 1st female.

Well done all! The upcoming training schedule will be live on our Facebook on Monday morning. In the meantime, don’t forget, we’re always on the look out for your race reports for the website, so get posting them on Facebook or send them to either Sam H, Huw or myself (Bronwyn).
