Period 1 March 2022 to 28 February 2023

It was fitting that the club’s 40th anniversary year has been an extremely active period. Membership has grown since last year with 111 members. There was a full programme of the club handicap series, Shobdon Wood Race, XC league races and the club championship races. Furthermore there has been a lot happening within the club with new initiatives such as the training weekend in November; a club bus to Cardiff Half Marathon; and a Prepare to Parkrun coaching series. During the year we have had to change how racing vests and training kit is sourced – the club is now buying and holding a small stock of racing vests and during the year has directly supplied buffs, bobble hats and caps and anniversary tee shirts with VIGA providing an online shop for other training kit.

We have continued to invest in the club. This has seen us support our coaching team with two new Leaders in Running Fitness, first aid training for all coaches and some of the committee, an additional safeguarding resource. We have been able to buy some new training kit including an additional flag for events and a new gazebo. As a club we have made donations to both West Midlands and Welsh Air Ambulance, Wigmore School and St Michael’s hospice. In December 2022 we received a grant of £1,000 from Active Herefordshire primarily to fund restarting Junior coaching in the Spring.
