Stretton Hills Fell Race

News

A very wet day, after a very wet previous day, but underfoot the 5 mile course over the Stretton Hills was tough without being too treacherous underfoot. 198 men set out, and all returned intact. The winner, Rob Hope, of Pudsey and Bramley, obviously found the course to his liking, getting round in 44.37. Dan had a good run too, 63rd, in 56.29, and Nigel M also, breaking the hour by 36 seconds, 87th. Gary P, newly promoted to over 40, was 114th in 1hr 02.27. No doubt he kept himself going with memories of running in the heat of Mauritius. Gary G finished strongly, 1st Croft over 60, and 153rd overall, 6th over 60, in 1hr 08.21. Guy, was 162nd, 6th over 65, in 1hr 10.02 and Tom 178th, 11th over 60 ( 1hr 14.59). The finishing line was certainly a very welcome sight!
