Presteigne 10km

News

It was a lovely day to have the race with both the weather and the atmosphere being warm. Compared with last year there was a smaller field of runners with 40 in total. This meant that within the first 200 metres you were running single file. The first 2kms are through the streets of Presteigne, being cheered on by the few enthusiastic locals. Then the next 5kms are on relatively, flat winding lanes that keep you interested. The last 3kms are on the main road entering Presteigne, which is a long, monotonous straight road where you can see every runner in the distance. In contrast to last year, the sun was shining: perfect running conditions, but I was still glad to see the finish. The Croft contingent included me (Suzanne), Bryan Markham, Dave Rouse (Jr) and Neil Taylor. The results were: Suzanne 15th (2nd Female) 42.08; Dave Rouse 16th 42.08; Neil Taylor 24th 44.51; Bryan 32nd (1st MV65) 49.52. The race was won by Luke Mason 33.43, 2nd Dave Davies 35.41 and 3rd Richie Richards 35.50. It was a good, unchallenging course that I would recommend to others for the friendly atmosphere.
