Another excellent turnout for the 2 nd race in the 2010 series and Girl Power ruled as 4 of the first 5 across the finish line were female.

Catherine was disappointed with her performance last month but she rectified that with a determined solo run at the front of the field to knock over 5 mins. off that previous time.

Kayleigh, running the course for just the second time, continued her improvement to slice a big chunk off her first attempt and still looked strong at the finish as she sprinted over the line.

Completing the female whitewash Natalie, after a 10 year hiatus, returned to register 3 rd place.

Martin overtook Nicky in the closing stages to take 4 th place with another strong run and another P.B.

Stuart and Liza both ran the event for the first time and their estimated times were almost accurate as Liza held off the advances of her fast closing husband by just 9 secs.

Simon provided the comedy moment of the evening as he appeared to be intoxicated by the scent of the oilseed rape in the surrounding fields and flew away with the fairies as he headed towards Leintwardine in a quest for extra mileage. He came to his senses before darkness descended and the search party was able to relax. He has only run the course about 8 times previously so the error is understandable.

The next handicap event will be held on Tues. 22 nd June. This will be the last of the Leinthall Starkes runs before we head to the woods.
