Carding Mill Canter

Race Reports

On a cold, slightly damp day, Tom was the only Croft runner to tackle the Carding Mill Canter. After the previous day’s rain, it must have been quite wet underfoot in places, and some finish times may reflect that. Pete Vale of Mercia was 1st, in 42.13, with Tom in 93rd place, 7 minutes quicker than last year, a well deserved first over 65, in 67.22.

News

If ever there was a misnomer! Four steep hills, almost gale force wind on top, and steep descents. The only opportunity for ‘cantering’, for those with any spare energy, was over the last few hundred metres. Andi Davies (Mercia) skipped round in 42.37, nearly a minute ahead of 2nd placed clubmate, Roland Stafford. Mick Ligema was 25th (53.08), and Russell 29th (53.24). Guy finished (56th, 58.56) a whisker in front of Gary P (60th, 59.18), with Tom 81st ( 1.05.55): Croft provided the over 60 1-2-4. 99 completed the course, and one pulled out.
