Brighton Half Marathon

News

One of my favourite Half Marathons to date – and not just because I achieved a new PB!!! I FINALLY managed to break the 90 minute barrier coming in at 1:29:23 (20 th female and 285 th overall out of over 10,000 runners).

The course was flat with the coast in sight throughout the entire 13.1 miles. For me it was the coast in South Wales during my university days that fuelled my passion for running. Great for spectators as the course doubles back on itself, giving spectators several points where they can cheer runners on within easy walking distance. Felt extremely lucky to be blessed with some unexpected sunshine, which took the edge off the extremely cool temperatures (pictures are deceiving!). The last 3 miles of the course brought runners within touching distance of the beach, which on this day gave a refreshing sea breeze, but on another day could be quite relentless I’m sure!
