Tintern Trot

Race Reports
A well organised trail race of almost 6 miles starting and finishing at Abbey Mill, Tintern. Not too hilly and mostly very good running on woodland tracks but with occasional large slippery stones to  catch the unwary!
A desperate look around the record field of 280 for other sky blue tops failed to find any – a surprise as there had been good reports about the race from other Crofties in the past.
In the large field of all abilities there were lots of individual ‘tussles’ and we were soon back at the finish for a free pint of beer (or cup of tea) and cakes.
The race was won by Rhodri Buffett of Brecon in 35.25, the first lady was Emma Wookey of Lliswerry runners in 42.37. Without the elite Croft supervets, TomD managed first mv65, 194th in 58.51.
Certainly a race for the future if you don’t like running on road, through mud and up mountains and on a line through TD we could win every prize going!
