Shropshire Mud Run Series

Race Reports

I have competed this year in the Shropshire Mud Run Series and on the final event last Saturday came in 3rd (for the 3rd time!) and won 2nd place overall in the women’s section. The Series consists of 5 x-country races between February and November at 5 stunning Shropshire venues all of which are very different and have their own individual challenges! The well-organised and time-chipped races are all about 10k in distance and attract approx 350 runners per race mixing both competitive runners and fun runners. The courses incorporate whatever obstacles can be found – there is always lots of mud, ponds and bogs but races have also included an equestrian x-country jump course, a motorcross track, caves and in the last race a bellyflopping pontoon into Bomere Lake! I would highly recommend the series if you fancy doing something different although expect lots of cuts and bruises!

  1. Great stuff Steph – well done. That’s the Croft Ambrey female club nutter of the year award sorted – all other prospective candidates can back off right now. Muddy marvelous.
