Boxing Day v Lucton School 2014

Race Reports

Another large turn-out, including Helen and 3 month old baby gamely completing the course. A new scoring system had been devised to make the contest more even, apparently doubling the points Lucton supporters would score. None of this was able though to outweigh the strength of the Croft contingent, ably led by Will Hayward (15.19), who finished 2 minutes 23 seconds clear of the second placed Bernard De Voy of Lucton, who managed to hold off Glyn (17.51) and Pat (17.59). With young Jasper Robinson 5th, in 18.36, just keeping ahead of Andrew and Will George (18.50), Croft had already imposed a convincing lead. Will’s sister, Felicity, was the first female, in 19.30, with Ria just behind in 19.51. Tom very nobly marked out the course beforehand, and then collected the markers again afterwards, thus preventing any visiting runner from getting lost in the woods.
