Sam M and the 2 Garys travelled up to Snowdon to compete in a slightly shortened version of the race, because the organisers were worried about lightning strikes. Gary P suffered a recurrence of his ankle injury during the descent, and hobbled back. Sam (137th, 63.50) had a great run (and still had the energy to finish 10th at Shobdon, 4 days later), and Gary was first MV65 (74.22), overtaking a disgruntled Steve Littlewood on the way down.
Snowdon International
Three Croft runners took part in this years classic fell race held in ideal conditions although maybe a little warm at the beginning. Gary Pearson, testing himself on return from injury as only Gary would/could, finished 237th in 1:45:33 ( 4 seconds behind the aforementioned Steve Littlewood). Gary Gunner finished 274th 1st o/65 in1:50:11, Brian Davies 296th 2nd 0/65 in 1:51:45 (not bad for a small club, 1st and 2nd in category in an International race!) The race was won by Murray Strain of Scotland in 1:05:10, first Lady was Tessa Hill in 1:21:26. There were 425 finishers.
