News

Unusually, the sun came out, and if it hadn’t been for the slurpy mud, the conditions would have been ideal! 157 runners took part, relatively few though from Croft, but thanks to all who set out the course, marshalled, tidied up afterwards and helped in any way. Stacey had a great run: 4th behind Eliot (49.30), John Pullen and Luke. Mark L put in another solid performance (11th, 53.41), with Glyn 17th (56.40) and Simon (just getting the better of Dave G, coming in 20th, to bring the A team home in 3rd place. Andy may have struggled a little on the testing Croft course, finishing 36th (60.38) in a very close run-in ahead of 4 other runners (including Rob and Patrick). Ben Rees (52nd) stuck in well, ahead of the 3 asthmatics: Guy, Neil and Martin! Frank(69th) and Tom (70th) ensured 50% of the places 60 to70 went to Croft. Brian, the ever present at Croft, completed the course for the 28th time, in 82nd place out of 95. In the women’s race, Gemma (36.39) and Irina (37.26) both ran great races to finish 5th and 6th, out of 55, over the shorter women’s course. Sam (14th, 40.05) completed the A team (2nd=, though county AA rules placed them 3rd, just beating Jo (18th, 40.24), with 10 women finishing in the space of 58 seconds. Liza was close behind (41.30), ensuring all Croft runners were in the top half of the field. Results on Results page (go via ‘Events’)
