Caernarfon 10k – Stacey Morgan

News

This race incorporated the Welsh championships and the Inter regional championships; I was representing East Wales for the first time.
I was a long way off my best, over a minute down on what I’d expected to run, but had a good battle during the race with fellow East Wales competitor Phil Kendrick, and just managed to beat him in the end. My time of 35:47 was enough for 15th place overall.
I was pleased to be the first runner home for East Wales, but even more surprised when it was announced that I had won a silver medal in my age group, didn’t think I was anywhere near the medals. When looking at the results after I realised that the chap who won the gold medal was only 3 seconds in front of me! I don’t think I’ll ever get a better chance of a gold medal in the Welsh champs.
