British Masters Indoor Championships – Lee Valley

News

Once again this event was held at the Lee Valley indoor sports centre, north-east London – very convenient for the south-east, but hardly a central venue. Liz entered the 800, 1500 and 3000, but because of the large numbers for the 3000 and the disorganisation, she didn’t hang around to find out how they planneed to run it late Sunday.

On the Saturday she ran in the 1500, and won silver in the over 60 event, as she did last year, pre-Croft, but 8 seconds faster (6.07). Ever a perfectionist she wasn’t entirely happy with her time (a luxury you can allow yourself maybe up to your 50s?). Next day, in the 800 she won gold (there were no other competitors in this category, but she had clearly frightened off the opposition), in 3.06. A very successful weekend, with the X-C to come at the end of the week.
