A hilly course, over fields and through woodland, approx. 5 miles. The start is three minutes walk from parking at the church (or at the village hall, if church car park full). The last mile is all downhill (ie you have climbing to do before the final descent!)

The inaugural running of this challenge event will take place on April 2nd. 2022. The race distance will be 50.3 km (31.25 miles) and the total ascent and descent is 5,361ft (1634m). Most of the race will be off road with some short road sections including the hellish steep ascent (25%) of the iconic Devil’s staircase. The race will test endurance and stamina but will reward the runner with a fantastic and lasting memorable experience.

At the finish there will be Welsh cawl / vegetarian alternative. Each runner will receive a unique devil medal and there will be prizes for the first three male and female runners and a technical T Shirt for all finishers

This information came via Mark Reed, of Racebest, who charge 50p per entry, + 5% of the entry fee. Presumably you can enter direct via Hay Hotfooters.

The turn off the A438 is about three miles past Hay, at Llowes. Then itas a couple of miles on a narrow lane up to the parking area (£2[?] to the farmer), then a 10 minute walk to the start.
